About us

We are a small rural Church of England church between Chelmsford, Basildon and Southend-on-Sea. Find out how to get to us on our location page. Small we may be, but at the moment we are very aware of our history. Rawreth was the home of Lancelot Andrews who made a vital contribution to the translation of the King James Bible, published for the first time just over 400 years ago. We would love to see you at any of our services. Our main weekly worship is a service of Holy Communion at 10.00am on Sundays. We also have short services of Morning and Evening Prayer on Monday to Friday. For details of all our services and a short explanation, see our Services Page. Not sure what our services are all about? Why not come and see; you would be really welcome and we could chat about any questions or comments you have over coffee afterwards. See our Services Page for more information. St Nicholas is a great place for Weddings and Baptisms and you would be really welcome. There are things that we would need to check out and talk about to make sure that we are allowed to hold your service at St Nicholas  so please do get in touch as soon as possible so that we can meet and talk about your service.
