People Trafficking on our doorstep

It is not long since we celebrated the Abolition of the Slave Trade and yet slavery is still rife.  Even more disturbing, people are being trafficked into domestic servitude, forced labour (including canabis cultivation) and the sex industry here in the towns and villages of Essex. A local branch of Active Communities against Trafficking has recently been set up to coordinate Churches responses in Chelmsford and Essex. I have just added a page to the Chelmsford Diocese website so to find out more about what is happening and what you can do about it go to www.chelmsford.anglican.org/people-trafficking.html
